San Francisco day of joy

Yesterday I was busy from wake up to wake down so I did not get a chance to post, but todays post will contain 2 days worth.

So yesterday Maurice, Brandon, Jonathan, and I went to San Francisco to push wood. It's kinda funny cause the very first spot we went to was this little bubble hump thing coming out of the ground which happens to be right next to San Francisco Bay. But yeah Maurice somehow flung his board right into the Bay, I felt bad but it was quite funny. We all got a good laugh out of it. Maurice got his board out, dried it off a bit, and we kept on moving. Next we hit up 3rd and Army for a little warm up since the first spot was a complete disaster. Turns out the quarter on the west side of the pier has been torn out and the quarter facing south right when you roll up was torn out and completely redone into a wonderful little quarter with a reverse channel type thing in the middle.

Jonathan - 5-0 (sequence)

We head out from that spot to meet up with this dude Bobby I met at this spot in Sunnyvale. Bobby is a super chill cool dude, and really good on his skateboard as well. He showed us to this really amazing ledge spot.

I shot everything from the same angle because it was more of a session than a photo shoot. Jonathan ended up trying a tailslide or lipslide and slipped out right onto the side of his face and his glasses blew up. Luckily he was okay, shaken a bit, but alright. He taped up his glasses so he could see for the remainder of the day, but he was done skating. Now Bobby took a really mean slam as well, he was doing a bluntslide as you see in the photo, he landed two fo them but I guess wanted to do it better. But he went for it one try and slipped out and somehow managed to land on his arm and ended up with a broken pinky. He peaced out and went to the hospital, and the session continued. Everyone definitely killed that ledge though, for sure. After that spot we searched the area for any other good spots, found a few, but didn't skate any of them. We were all pretty worn out. We ended up just chilling in the city the rest of the night. We went to Coit Tower, but didn't go to the top because it cost money but the first picture is from Coit Towers bottom. After that we walked around the city and ended up at the City Lights Bookstore which has some famous beat generation background to it. I am not to familiar with it but Maurice told me a bit and let me borrow a book by Jack Kerouac called "On the Road." Hopefully I will soon know a little bit about the beat generation. We also checked out The Beat Museum which is free on Mondays it turns out. We then had some pizza at a local pizza place to end the day and headed home. The day was awesome.
